Zudi the Maltese is having a giveaway!

Zudi the maltese came home from the vet on Wednesday. Her spaying went well and now you would never even know that she had had surgery! She's been zipping around like a crazy dog! Since Zudi the maltese is so glad to be home and feeling better she thinks a good way to celebrate would be to have a giveaway. So to keep Zudi the maltese happy I'm giving away a charm pack of Thimbleberries Timeless Grace fabrics. To enter just post a comment about how your dog, cat, pet chicken, iguana, etc. helps you with your quilting. Here at my house, Zudi the maltese likes to run off with spools of ribbon. If you don't have a pet then just post any old comment. And if you link back to this post on your blog you'll get an extra entry. Just make sure and let me know. The winner will be announced on April 24th.
Till next time.....

  1. Welcome home Zudi. Presently we have 2 cats ... Sweetie (mine) and Mister (DH's).

They do like to lay on new quilt tops. I guess they're checking to make sure my points are not cut off and blocks are square. Thanks for the giveaway.

  2. Hi - glad Zudi is home and doing ok. My 4 legged babies love to lay in my sewing studio and sleep while I am sewing. I guess that it relaxes them as much as it does me. Alice

  3. Your new blog looks great!!! My cat is Joey the Killer Cat - the unfriendliest house cat in creation, but also the best hunter around. We love him - we just keep our distance, since that's the way he likes it. He doesn't help me with my quilting in any way, unfortunately. If he's in my quilt room, chances are I'm going to get bitten if I try and move him out of my chair (one of his favorite sleep places). Hmm..that must be why I'm not getting any quilts made these days!

  5. Hi Grandma Chicken! What a fun blog you have! Thanks for linking to my 2,500 free quilt patterns on my own blog..it let me find you in a track back! I just lost my most beloved of 3 cats and it just plain broke my heart so I know how much pets mean to others, as well. your little maltese is adorable! All of my cats love to help me quilt...if you check out my blog posts they are on top of just about everything...including my sewing machine space. I like to think their fur is wrapped in with my own love put into each and every quilt!

I have 3 cats who keep me company while I quilt. Two just love to lay on the fabric and supervise, but one just HAS to pick up any safety pins that I drop! She really has a field day when I pin a quilt together on the floor. So many pins and too little time!! She has even tried to grab one of the pins and pulled the quilt out of the room! lol

  7. I have a cat that that thinks every quilt I make is for her! She start laying on the quilt once i get it big enough for over hang while I sew. She will lay on it (as i stich it together) right behind my machine. Then when bigger she moves to the floor. When I get it to my quilt machine she will lay on it there when I am not quilting. I am sure she thinks this one is for her! Every time!

  8. The dogs help by lying near my feet.
The cats help by making sure that all new material purchased is put away as soon as it enters the house - they have a BAD habit of peeing on plastic.

  9. Michele, we used to have cats also and they would do the same thing! Wonder what it is about cats and plastic?

  11. I don't have any pets unless you count the cows we have. How do they help with my quilting? Less time at the grocery store because we are able to keep beef in the freezer. Since we have one in the freezer I couldn't call it a pet!

  12. Poochie helps me by laying at my feet and sometimes making the sewing machine go really fast and Rudy helps me by quality checking all fabrics for snugability in the sewing room!
    Gald Zudi is doing well!

  13. Lucy likes to either sit right by my feet beside the foot pedal for my machine, put her nose on my lap and look at what is being hand stitched or sit by the window and watch the world "go by".

Like the new look to your blog. Congrats on winning it.

  14. Hi there
Just found your blog via QOB. No pets now but a cat I once had liked to *help* with knitting. No matter how often I moved him he would lay on top and suck the yarn! goodness knows what he would have done with a quilt.

  16. Your blog is great, I found you through HT. Our Lizzie Girl was always with me when I sewed, she mostly layed in the floor and took a nap, she pasted away 11/15/08 and we missed her more than words can say.
Come visit my blog some time.
    Prayers, Bo

  17. I love your blog! I belong to QOB, and found you through that site.
I have a parrot that loves to help me hold fabric while I sew! I wish I could post a picture to show you! When Pepper is not helping me by holding the fabric, Pepper sits on my shoulder and supervises my 1/4 inch sewing! LOL!
Keep up the great work on your blog....it is great!

  18. My dog is the best quilting dog ever. But he has had slow and careful training! When tag came home (2 months) he would bark at the hiss from the steaming iron. He would growl at the sewing machine motor revving up. Slowly he learned not to eat thread or lay on fabric. Two blessedly happy years later, this is the best quilting dog. He is so good in fact, that if I were to become seriously ill I would seek for a quilter to have him. He hugs my foot pedal so that when I sew, he is there like a warm blanket around my bare foot. He always respects bits of fabric that fall off, and I have seen him so covered in snippets and thread that it is hard to tell there is a little fluffy white Havanese dog underneath. Tag moves when I move, stays out of the way, and sleeps placidly as I humm along in my little featherweight. If I get up, he checks. He knows when to follow me out because the sewing for that day is done. He keeps his warm loving presence nearby even when I quilt late into the night. If I win the charm pack I will make Tag U're It (his official name) a new blankie with it.
